When the POS loses internet: what still works
What you can and can't do on the POS without internet – and what happens when it's back.

If the POS loses internet mid-service, you don't have to stop completely. Much still works, but some things wait until you're back online.
What usually works offline
- Ringing up sales and taking cash payment.
- Printing a receipt on a local printer.
- Holding items in the cart and parking sales.
What needs internet
- Card payment and Vipps (the payment must be confirmed with the bank/service).
- Syncing to the back office, kiosk and online ordering.
- Lookups that fetch fresh data (for example real-time stock balance).
When internet is back
The sales you made offline sync automatically to the back office, so the reports stay complete.
Good to know: If the network is often unstable, check the router/Wi-Fi at the sale point. Card terminals may have their own connection – see "Card terminal not responding: a quick check".
Tip: Always keep some change on hand. Then you can take cash while the network is down.
