Marking a product out of stock
Temporarily hide a product from sale and optionally tell staff when it is back.

When you run out of something but do not want to delete it, mark it as out of stock. This keeps the product in your catalogue while making it unavailable to sell.
Steps
- Go to Products → Products and open the product.
- On the Generally tab, tick Out of Stock.
- (Optional) Set a date and time under Back in Stock (optional) so staff know when you expect it to return.
- Click Update Product to save.
In the product list, the item now shows an Out of stock label, along with the Back date if you set one.
Bring it back
- Open the product again.
- Untick Out of Stock.
- Click Update Product.
Good to know: Out of Stock is a quick manual switch and is separate from Stock Tracking. If you use Stock Tracking with a Stock Quantity, the product is automatically shown as out of stock once the count reaches zero.
Tip: Leave the Back in Stock field empty if you genuinely do not know — it is only shown to staff as an estimate.
