Tracking refunds, discounts and tips

Keep an eye on money going back out and on staff tips using the Refunds, Discounts and Tips reports.

Three reports under Reports help you watch the money that leaves the till or goes to staff: Refunds, Discounts and Tips. Each one has a date range, filters, summary figures and an export option.

Steps

  1. Open the report you need. In the left menu under Reports, click Refunds, Discounts or Tips.
  2. Set the period. Choose your From and To dates at the top.
  3. Apply filters. Narrow the results to focus on what matters:
    • Refunds: filter by status, refund type (full or partial) and the cashier who handled it.
    • Discounts: filter by department, employee and discount type (such as campaign, promotional code, customer group or manual).
    • Tips: filter by department, employee and payment method.
  4. Review the summary. Each report shows key totals at the top — for example total discount given, or total tips collected and average tip.
  5. Export. Download the results to Excel or PDF when you need to share or file them.

Refunds What was refunded, why, and by whom
Discounts How much was given away and on which offers
Tips How much staff earned in tips

Good to know: The Refunds report ties each refund to the responsible cashier, which is useful for routine checks and for keeping your records in order.

Tip: Run the Tips report by employee at the end of a pay period so tip totals are easy to share fairly.
