Show product photos on the POS (images vs. colored buttons)
When to use product photos on POS buttons, and when a colored button with text works better.

On the POS a product button can show either an image, a color with text, or both. What works best depends on what you sell and how fast staff need to work.
How to add a photo
- Open the product: Click Products in the left menu and select the product.
- Upload an image: Add a product photo. See "Add a product photo" for details on size and format.
- Save: The image appears on the button on the POS.
Visual differences
- Images suit items where the look helps, like baked goods, drinks and retail. They take more space and can make the screen slower to scan if everything has an image.
- Colored buttons with text suit items sold by name, like coffee sizes, add-ons and services. They are quick to read and keep the layout tidy.
- A mix: Many use images on their best-selling products and color with text on the rest.
Good to know: A clear, well-cropped image works best. Blurry or dark images make the button harder to recognize than plain text.
