Set up your menu, step by step (the right order)

Build your menu in the right order: create categories first, then add products, photos and customizations.

The easiest way to build your menu is to do it in the right order. A category must exist before you can add a product, so always start with categories.

Steps

  1. Create categories first. Go to Products > Product categories > Add Category. Fill in the Category Name, optionally a Description, Parent Category and Kitchen Printer. Click Create Category.
  2. Repeat for all your main groups, e.g. Coffee, Food, Drinks.
  3. Add products. Go to Products > Add Product. Enter the Product Name and choose a Category - both are required. Item No fills in automatically.
  4. Set price and VAT. Enter Price incl. VAT and choose the right MVA/VAT Code (MVA25, MVA15, MVA12, MVA0 or UNNTAK). If the item is food, turn on Food Service so VAT is set automatically (dine-in 25%, takeaway 15%).
  5. Add a product photo. In the right-hand column, click or drag your image onto Click or drag image. It uploads when you save.
  6. Save with Save (or Save and New to add the next item).
  7. Add customizations afterwards, such as sizes or add-ons, so guests can choose when ordering.

Tip: A good product photo makes a big difference on the kiosk and web ordering - items with photos often sell better. Add one right when you create the product.
