The Kitchen Display (KDS) shows new orders on a screen in the kitchen. You control one shared routing policy for all order channels under Settings > Kitchen Screen.
Steps
- Open Settings and select Kitchen Screen.
- Turn on Use Kitchen Screen (KDS). If it is off, orders route to printers only.
- Check the KDS device assigned / No KDS device assigned badge to see whether a screen is connected.
- Open the screen via the Kitchen Display URL with Open, or copy the address with the copy button and open it on the kitchen device.
- Optionally enable Fallback to Printer if KDS is Offline so orders print if the screen loses contact.
- Turn on Skip Pending - Send Orders Directly to In Progress if new orders should start in the In Progress column without anyone tapping Accept.
- Optionally set a Fixed Preparation Time (minutes) - leave it empty to let staff set the time when accepting.
- Choose a Fallback Printer (optional) and a KDS Offline Timeout (seconds) if needed.
- Click Save Kitchen Settings.
| Mode | Result |
|---|---|
| Use Kitchen Screen (KDS) on | Orders appear on the screen |
| Off | Orders print only |
| Fallback to Printer | Printer takes over if KDS is offline |
Good to know: Till, self-order kiosk and web ordering share the same routing. Product and category printer mappings are used first; the fallback printer applies only when an item has no such mapping.
