Choosing the option type and selection limits

Understand the Remove, Add and Change With types, set prices per option and limit how many a customer can pick.

Each customization group has a Type that controls how customers interact with it, plus per-option pricing and, for some types, a limit on how many can be chosen.

The three types

  • Remove — customers deselect a default ingredient (e.g. "no onions"). Price is usually 0; use a negative value to give a discount for removing it.
  • Add — customers add extra items at a cost (e.g. toppings). Each option has a price added on top of the product price.
  • Change With — customers swap to one alternative and pick exactly one. You mark one option as the Default.

Set prices per option

  1. In the group, click + Add Items and choose your options.
  2. For each row, enter the + Extra Price (the amount added to the product price, including dine-in tax). Set it to 0 if the option is free.
  3. If your business uses food service, you can also set a separate + Takeaway Price. Leave it blank to use the same extra price.

Limit how many can be chosen

For an Add group, set the Selection Limit:

  • Enter 0 for unlimited.
  • Enter 1 for a single choice.
  • Enter a higher number (e.g. 3) to cap the total, for example up to 3 toppings.

For Add options you can also set a Max Qty per item (0 = unlimited).

Good to know: Option prices are added to the product's base price when the order is rung up.

Tip: Use the up and down arrows beside each item to control the order options appear in for the customer.
