Managing ingredients (constituents)

Build a shared library of ingredients and components you can reuse across your products.

Constituents are the shared building blocks of your menu, the ingredients and components, like cheese, bacon or extra sauce, that you reuse across many products.

Steps

  1. Open the page. Go to Products → Constituents and click Add Constituent.
  2. Name it. Enter a Name and choose a Category. Categories are managed under Constituent Categories.
  3. Add a photo (optional). Use Photo (Optional) to upload an image.
  4. Set the price. Choose the VAT rate, then enter the Default Price (NOK).
  5. Track stock (optional). If inventory is enabled, tick Track Inventory and add a code in the SKU / Item Code field.
  6. Set the status. Leave Status as Active so the constituent is available for use.
  7. Save to add it to your library.

Tip: Restaurants with food mode can tick Food Mode to apply the correct dine-in and takeaway VAT automatically, with separate Dine-in Price (NOK) and Takeaway Price (NOK) fields.

Good to know: Because constituents are shared, updating one keeps every product that uses it consistent, so you only edit details in one place.
