A promotional code is a discount the customer types in at checkout — perfect for newsletters, flyers and SMS campaigns.
Steps
- Open Promotional code. Go to Campaigns → Promotional code.
- Start a new code. Click Create Promotional Code.
- Enter the code. Fill in the Promotional Code field (uppercase letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores), or click Generate for a random one, then add a Description.
- Set the discount. Under Discount Configuration, choose Percentage (%) or Fixed Amount (NOK) and enter the value. Optionally set a Minimum Order Amount and, for percentages, a Maximum Discount cap.
- Choose what it applies to. Under Applicability, pick All Products, Specific Categories or Specific Products.
- Limit who can use it. Under Customer Restrictions, choose All Customers, First-Time Customers Only or Specific Customer Groups.
- Add usage limits. Under Usage Limits, set a Total Usage Limit and/or Per Customer Limit. Leave empty for unlimited.
- Set the dates and status. Choose Valid From and Valid To, set Status to Active, then click Create Promotional Code.
Good to know
On the list, each code shows its Status, Usage (used vs limit) and a Revenue Impact column. Use the Deactivate/Activate button on a row to switch a code off or on without deleting it. For results over time, see Campaigns → Promo Code Analytics.
Tip: Combine First-Time Customers Only with a Per Customer Limit of 1 for a clean welcome offer.
